repo2graph turns codebases into graph context for coding agents — and shows where grep still wins
JeremyCMorgan · x · 2026-10-08
Open-source repo2graph parses source code into bounded graph context and serves it to coding agents like Claude Code and Cursor via an MCP server, delivering cited answers without any LLM calls (built on tree-sitter static analysis).
The author also published benchmarks showing graph retrieval isn't a universal win: it earns its keep on structural questions (dependency graphs, call chains, cross-module references), while plain grep remains faster for simple text search. MIT-licensed, with GitHub Action integration.
