Replit launches desktop app preview with Microsoft containers and Nvidia OpenShell sandboxing
amasad · x · 2026-10-08
Replit announced a desktop app preview for Windows, with CEO amasad arguing that desktop AI apps expose users to supply-chain attacks and catastrophic agent mistakes, so the new build focuses on security and reliability. Apps are built and run locally, and each build runs in its own isolated sandbox powered by Microsoft Execution Containers plus Nvidia's OpenShell, with Replit as an early adopter. A waitlist is open for early access.
