OpenAI's Decisions API enters public beta, up to 10x faster than GPT-6 Luna

OpenAI has opened its Decisions API to all developers in public beta: it lets apps pick the right model, tool, or action in near real-time, with decisions up to 10x faster than GPT-6 Luna via the Responses API. Developers are already testing it — one built a document writer that reads as you type and decides whether you're writing or prompting, letting you give instructions without moving the cursor. The API targets lightweight, high-frequency routing decisions in agent workflows and real-time UIs.
