System76 Bans All AI-Generated Contributions to Cosmic Desktop, PRs Require No-LLM Pledge
mark_k · x · 2026-10-08
Linux hardware vendor System76 has banned all AI-generated contributions to its Cosmic Desktop Environment (part of Pop!OS). Every contributor must now agree: "I have not included any LLM (also known as AI) generated content in this PR, including code, comments, and descriptions."
X user markk mocked the move, suggesting it rename itself the "Decel Desktop Environment" to make clear it's an AI-hater project.
