github-actions[bot] · ghdev · 2026-10-07
openai/codex shipped rust-v0.161.0. Highlights:
New features
- GPT-6.1 Sol is now the default model in the bundled and Amazon Bedrock catalogs
- Amazon Bedrock adds multi-agent V2 and Ultra reasoning on compatible models; Bedrock Mantle accepts AWS GovCloud regions
- Sign in to MCP servers from an active terminal session via /mcp login <name>
- Choose microphone, speaker, and input channels for voice conversations, saved locally
- Daybreak is now explicit opt-in (--enable clidaybreak or features.clidaybreak=true); per-turn Cyber access program selection via codex exec --cyber-access-program
Fixes include broader write grants from approved filesystem escalation while preserving denied reads/network restrictions, explicit launch permissions surviving terminal reconnects, elevated Windows terminals starting an embedded server, correct Enter submission after paste detection in Vim insert mode, and thread resume including the latest committed history.
