ARIA's £50M Scaling Trust program reveals first 12 teams securing AI agent coordination

ARIA's £50M Scaling Trust programme announced its first cohort: 12 teams across 3 tracks building infrastructure and fundamental research for AI agents to coordinate securely in digital and physical worlds.
- Track 1 (Arena/evidence): Andon Labs on environment design, Amodo Design on physical build, BT6 on red teaming
- Track 2 (Cyber-physical agent stack): University of Edinburgh's Agentic Security Reasoner (turning task requirements into formal specs, then selecting or generating cryptographic protocols), TEE sandbox tools from RDI Foundation, physical watermarking and verification at Cambridge
- Track 3 (Fundamental theory): EPFL's AI-native proof systems and advanced cryptography for AI at Cambridge
New teams are funded on a rolling basis; next deadline is 31 October. The programme lead notes the announcement doc was iterated with Opus.
