OpenAI's Human Rights Lead: Military AI Targeting 'Keeps Me Up at Night'

Sarah Yager, OpenAI's first human rights and responsible deployment lead, said at the ScaleUp:AI conference that what the military might do with AI targeting 'keeps me up at night.' She joined in June with 30 years of military experience as OpenAI partners with the Department of War. Her team has experts feed high-stakes combat prompts into models and adjusts them against Geneva Convention standards.
