Dot agent can't touch local tasks despite advertised capabilities, user reports after three days of debugging
bbome2014 · reddit · 2026-10-07
A user spent three days trying to get Dot to see, message, and create tasks on its local host, only to find it restricted to cloudthread tasks: the cloud config.toml is immutable, Dot's messages aren't treated as authoritative permissions, and delegation-only interaction rules block workarounds via third-party tools or the codex CLI. The limitations directly contradict Dot's advertised ability to keep other tasks running.
