Dev vibes-clones his 2-year game with Claude: looks right, plays wrong

Game developer OlexGameDev shared results of "vibe cloning" his own 2+ year game with Claude, feeding it assets and gameplay videos. After a day he had a clone that looked like his game but felt wrong — art style, bugs, and game feel all missed.
- Iterating with the AI was painfully slow: write a paragraph, wait 5-15 minutes for the outcome, while tokens burned fast.
- The biggest cost was loss of control over the project.
- Ian Arawjo added this will remain true since AI agents must operate the interface to change it; the real action is in design, not recreating existing interfaces — and only people who don't seriously use AI agents get fooled by surface-level looks.
