Hookdeck Open-Sources a Bridge That Converts Webhooks into MCP Events for Agents
phobos7 · reddit · 2026-10-07
ChatGPT shipped MCP Events last week, based on the Events MCP extension spec. A Hookdeck employee open-sourced mcp-events-bridge: the bridge is itself an MCP server that dynamically creates webhooks for "Webhook Providers" (Resend and GitHub so far) and advertises subscribable events. Once the MCP client (currently only ChatGPT) subscribes, incoming webhooks are converted into MCP Events and delivered to listening agents. It runs on the hosted Hookdeck Event Gateway, which has a free tier. More providers, local agent support, and a shim for non-MCP-Events notification mechanisms are planned.
