Ben Goertzel's plan to avert the cybersecurity apocalypse: formally verified software co-authored by agent hives
bengoertzel · x · 2026-10-06
In step 11 of his AGI self-improvement plan and an accompanying essay, Ben Goertzel argues LLMs have democratized vulnerability discovery — recent "rogue AI" attacks on OpenAI, Anthropic and Google agents traced back to a misconfiguration in security-testing software by Israeli firm Irregular. He rejects pausing AI as unrealistic since major powers already hack each other with AI. His alternative: agents rapidly co-authoring specs and shipping formally verified software — hives running in provably secure microkernel containers, with dedicated "math hives" proving the hives meet specs as they evolve.
