Every frame is code: Claude Code crafts a 90s-style promo in Remotion with JS-synthesized soundtrack
birazzzzz · reddit · 2026-10-06
A solo developer's app promo was written entirely by Claude Code (Opus 5.5) in Remotion (React): no After Effects, no stock music — even the soundtrack is a techno track plus 176 sound effects synthesized in plain JS, all timed off the same timeline as the animation.
Highlights:
- The same code renders 4K video and runs live on a webpage as a 340 KB embed instead of a 30 MB file
- The author acted as creative director, iterating with feedback like "these transitions look like 90s PowerPoint"
- The opening prompt set taste expectations and brand constraints upfront
