Wan2GP memory management update: 15s video now renders in 5 minutes, first-click OOM fixed
orangpelupa · reddit · 2026-10-06
The open-source local video generation tool Wan2GP shipped a major memory management update. The author reports a 15-second video that previously took 10 minutes (without DLSS5) now renders in just 5 minutes with DLSS5 enabled.
- Fixed the bug where the first click of the generate button always threw an out-of-memory error; generation now works from the first attempt.
- DLSS5 upscaling no longer randomly causes OOM errors.
- Remaining concern: long overnight batch runs previously degraded per-generation time from 10 to 13 minutes, and it's unclear if this is resolved.
