OpenAI and Anthropic Abandon Windows 10, Leaving Desktop AI Features Broken

A Windows 10 user reports that ChatGPT and Claude desktop apps have effectively stopped supporting W10, making upgrading to Windows 11 nearly mandatory for AI use.
ChatGPT can no longer take screenshots on W10, breaking Computer Use; Work mode errors out, and the only workaround grants unrestricted root access to the whole PC. A September W10 update broke Claude's shell access, pushing tasks to a limited cloud fallback or a very slow Computer Use path. Multiple GitHub issues and complaints have gone unaddressed. The author resents W11's baked-in Copilot, telemetry, and registry settings that silently re-enable themselves after updates.
