Serial founder who sold his AI startup shares the hard path back to employment
yongqianme · x · 2026-10-06
Serial entrepreneur Yong Qian published a rewritten guide, From Founder to Professional, chronicling his journey from 12 years in multinational automation roles to founding an industrial IoT company, then OmniEdge (a P2P Mesh VPN with 7,000+ users across 26 countries, exited strategically), and DeepFashion — a generative AI fashion-design startup sold in late 2024. His core insight: transitioning from founder back to employee is far harder than commonly understood. After selling DeepFashion he applied across the US, Europe, and Asia, facing rejections and offers he ultimately declined.
