iamtrask boosts token-attribution idea to fix enterprise AI's incentive misalignment
iamtrask · x · 2026-10-06
A viral idea shared by iamtrask argues enterprise AI adoption's biggest blocker is incentive misalignment: employees hoard the "100x tokens" of tacit knowledge that would make company AI powerful.
The proposed fix: AI systems that attribute output tokens back to input data. Employees contribute knowledge -> the company feeds it into models/evals -> outputs are attributed per employee's training data -> outputs are scored on business metrics -> employees get paid. Total incentive alignment turns knowledge-sharing into a priced, rewarded behavior.
