NVIDIA's CANTO Predicts Aerodynamics Directly From CAD, Cuts Pressure Error 20%
JeanKossaifi · x · 2026-10-06
NVIDIA Research's AI-Aided Engineering group released CANTO, which predicts aerodynamic fields directly from native parametric NURBS CAD geometry — no meshing or point sampling — with a fully differentiable pipeline w.r.t. CAD parameters. It achieves 20% lower surface-pressure relative L₂ error on HiLiftAeroML vs AB-UPT, and 4-20% lower drag on AhmedML under matching volume and lift constraints, validated via CFD. Gradients enable design optimization.
