Pi-hole-class DNS ad-blocker runs on a $2 ESP32-C3 with 537k domains in flash
M-Abozaid · github · 2026-10-06
The open-source esp32-c3-adblock project turns a $2 ESP32-C3 (no PSRAM) into a Pi-hole-class DNS ad-blocker. It packs 537k ad/tracker domains as 40-bit FNV-1a hashes into flash with binary-search lookups, sinks unwanted queries over UDP DNS, and ships a web dashboard. Written in C++ for Arduino/PlatformIO, it has reached 1,268 stars (+196 today).
