A 4-step Opus 5.5 + Hermes workflow that turns competitor pages and reviews into testable positioning angles
VibeMarketer_ · x · 2026-10-06
A detailed walkthrough of a competitor-analysis workflow combining Opus 5.5 and the Hermes agent: feed it your product brief, 3-5 competitor URLs, and a batch of customer reviews, then ask for 3 positioning angles backed by evidence.
The four steps:
- Map competitor promises: have Hermes crawl homepages, pricing pages, and docs, logging every claim with source and access date; absence of a feature on a competitor's site doesn't mean they don't offer it.
- Map customer pain: pull recent reviews from G2, Capterra, Trustpilot, support tickets, and sales calls; cluster recurring complaints and desired outcomes (painful onboarding, confusing pricing, missing integrations, reliability, repetitive manual work), each pattern tied to a source.
- Filter against what you deliver: feed in your features, pricing, limitations, and proof, and make the model reject any angle your product can't credibly support.
- Output 3 angles: each with buyer + situation, problem + evidence, promise, why you can deliver, competitor evidence, risks, and the smallest next test — plus a headline, an offer, and one customer-interview question that could disprove it.
Once validated, save it as a Hermes skill with /learn to rerun on fresh pages and reviews.
