Claude Appears to Have Added File Size Limits for In-Chat Downloads
nptacek · x · 2026-10-06
Security researcher nptacek observes that Anthropic seems to have recently changed file size handling in Claude chat: files above a certain size generated by Claude are no longer available for download in chat, requiring Claude to split them into multiple archive files to download and recombine. He adds that if a code session expires, critical data can sometimes be lost, as Claude isn't great at judging what persists where.
