Dev open-sources pi-knock, a phone notifier for when your Pi coding agent finishes
lylezhang · reddit · 2026-10-05
A developer shared pi-knock, an open-source extension for the Pi coding agent that sends phone notifications via Pushover or ntfy, with webhook support.
- The pain point: after handing a coding task to Pi and switching to a game or other work, the agent would sit finished for 15+ minutes waiting — the wasted time was the handoff, not the agent's work.
- A key design detail: completion alerts wait until Pi has finished automatic retries and queued work, so you don't come back to a still-running terminal.
- Code is on GitHub (Asigers/pi-knock).
