UCVG.cpp generates control vectors for any LLM from a single prompt pair
Egor4more · reddit · 2026-10-05
A new C++ tool mirrors llama.cpp's setup and generates control vectors for any LLM from one pair of contrasting prompts. Control vectors steer models at the belief level: can't be leaked, don't wash off with context, resist "ignore previous instructions," and can be adjusted mid-conversation instantly. Limits: fine-grained control still needs prompts, and high steering magnitudes degrade quality — with abliteration suggesting degradation-free steering is possible.
