Dev builds a color-bar planning board to visualize long-running agent sessions
kevinkern · x · 2026-10-05
Developer kevinkern shared a simple planning board he built that visualizes an agent's long run using color bars.
His motivation: he wanted to know how far a project actually is from a potential release, so he rendered the agent's long-running task states as colored bars to see progress, stalls, and the overall trajectory at a glance.
A lightweight observability idea worth stealing for anyone running long agent tasks — no fancy dashboard needed, just color-coded blocks showing where the agent actually is.
