Claude's US paid subscriber growth declined since May while ChatGPT re-accelerated

Revenue data shows ChatGPT leads Claude and Gemini by roughly 3x in US paid subscribers, an even bigger gap globally. Claude made real gains over six months, crossing DeepSeek and Grok in traffic and Gemini in subs.
But Claude's consumer run may be slowing: net new US paid subscribers started declining in May while ChatGPT growth re-accelerated. User bases have diverged — Claude overindexes on male, high-income coastal subscribers while ChatGPT is less skewed.
