Engineer teaches his 8-year-old to code with AI and Scratch side by side
haltakov · x · 2026-10-05
An engineer shares how he's teaching his 8-year-old son to code in the AI era with a two-track approach: they vibe-code the kid's personal website with AI, then switch to Scratch to build a simple game step by step while the AI works.
The goal is for the child to get comfortable building with AI while also learning fundamentals to understand how things actually work. He admits he's unsure if this is right and asks how others are teaching their kids.
