PyTorch working group standardizes hardware accelerator integration across backends
PyTorch · x · 2026-10-05
The PyTorch Accelerator Integration Working Group is building standard hardware enablement mechanisms to unify cross-backend testing, profiling, compiler support, and distributed execution.
Deliveries this year include the cross-repository CI Relay (CRCR), device-agnostic test suite refactoring, the maturing OpenReg reference backend, distributed & torch.compile support, and the official Additional Compute Platforms portal — lowering onboarding friction for accelerator vendors across the ecosystem.
