Economist Novosad: AI writing drives out human writing — we need segregated spaces
paulnovosad · x · 2026-10-05
Economist Paul Novosad argues AI and human writing cannot coexist in the same format: wherever AI writing is permitted, it crowds out human writing. He calls for segregated spaces for AI writing while keeping it out of human spaces. Most GenAI papers, he adds, don't start from a good idea being expressed — they dress up weak ideas in over-the-top AI precision to look good.
