How one fan got free Portola festival tickets by sending 150+ AI-personalized emails to artist managers
basedalexandoor · x · 2026-10-05
A user shares how he scored two free 2-day Portola festival tickets after declining to pay $800: he used the AI tool Instinct to compile a list of artists' managers, staff, videographers, and even partners, then sent 150+ personalized emails — each referencing the artist's latest album and asking about a way to hear them live.
The next morning, a band's manager (Mind Enterprises) offered him two free tickets. The quote-poster adds a caveat: it works, but don't flex about it on the internet.
