Cognitive bankruptcy incoming: AI's output boom is outpacing our ability to absorb it
perilli · x · 2026-10-04
Analyst perilli warns of "cognitive bankruptcy": fast and ultrafast inference gives AI massive output gains — clearing 600 unread emails in hours, producing a 20-page report in 30 minutes — but the asymmetry vanishes once everyone uses it. Expect daily 60-slide decks to memorize, 50-page analyses to peer-review, and 100-dimensional models to test. Producing more doesn't mean absorbing more; without strict output-size and etiquette rules, AI may deliver less efficiency and faster burnout. This is already happening without ultrafast inference.
