MCP is a cost problem for browser-based tools like Figma, but free for local apps
rms80 · x · 2026-10-04
An interesting observation: for desktop tools living in the browser like Figma and OnShape, MCP is hard because every call has a real cost and must be metered, while MCP in apps running locally on your machine is effectively free. This shapes very different agent-integration economics depending on where the app runs.
