A Reddit user (under 18, blocked by Claude's age gate) recounts frustrating Google Gemini experiences: in a long research chat, Gemini denied having any context of their shared work; in another chat it insisted a new iPhone announcement didn't exist, dismissed Apple's own articles as fake, cited safety guardrails for an 'unsafe' conversation, and closed the chat on its own.
The user notes the failure wasn't long-context hallucination since it happened immediately in a short chat, and concludes Gemini's aggressive guardrails, memory failures, hallucinations, and outdated info make it very inconvenient to use.
