Cohere releases open translation model North Small Translate, claims SOTA under 1T params

Cohere has announced North Small Translate, a new open-source machine translation model that it claims is state-of-the-art among models under 1T parameters.
Beyond open weights, the team says it will also share its full process, with head of localization Tom Kocmi walking through the model in a video series.
