Codex vs Claude Opus head-to-head: porting retro console games from CPU to GPU rendering
ssh4net · x · 2026-10-03
Developer ssh4net ran a same-task comparison between OpenAI and Anthropic coding models: Codex (Sol/Astra) ported Krusty's game while Claude Opus 5.5 ported QuackShot, both migrating retro console titles from a CPU renderer to native C++/OpenGL GPU rendering.
The tasks were set up to be fair: both games used similar CPU-side frame assembly and identical technical specs. The tweet doesn't declare a winner — full results are in the thread.
