CoreWeave wants the industry to stop calling it a 'neocloud': 'you can only be new for a short time'
DavidLinthicum · x · 2026-10-03
According to Bloomberg's Dina Bass, CoreWeave executives see "neocloud" as "temporary and without a purpose" — "you can only be new for a short time." The company's customers include Caterpillar, Capital One, Nasdaq and JPMorgan Chase, with 82% of customers using three or more CoreWeave products. Author David Linthicum says he argued two years ago that the name was never descriptive and prefers "AI-specialized cloud."
