COLM 2026 Launches DAIH Workshop on Deploying LLMs/VLMs Responsibly in Healthcare
StellaLisy · x · 2026-10-03
COLM 2026 (Oct 9, San Francisco) will host DAIH, a full-day workshop on responsibly deploying LLMs and VLMs in clinical settings, arguing benchmark performance is a poor proxy for real-world readiness.
Key tracks:
- Safety: evaluation beyond benchmark accuracy, hallucination and failure characterization, robustness under temporal and institutional shift
- Equity: fairness across patient populations, privacy-preserving deployment, legal soundness and emerging regulation
- Efficacy: multimodal clinical applications, human-AI collaboration, production deployment lessons
Non-archival submissions open May 23 and close June 30; topics include real-world clinical integration, documentation and chart review, patient-facing communication, and negative results from deployments. The author also co-organizes the Agent Behavior workshop, speaking on "Deep Reasoning in General Purpose Agents via Structured Meta-Cognition."
