Open-source local image app adds 4-LoRA stacking and 8GB offload mode for z-image
Mountain_Bad6270 · reddit · 2026-10-01
Redditor MountainBad6270 shipped a major update to imference-desktop, a free open-source local image generation app, largely driven by community feedback from six weeks ago:
- LoRA support: stack up to 4 per image on SDXL (incl. Pony, Illustrious), z-image, Krea 2 and Anima; curated catalog with tuned weights, plus custom imports with model-match detection.
- Krea 2: 8 curated models, any Krea 2 finetune loadable.
- 8GB cards: new offload mode makes z-image actually usable on 8GB VRAM.
- Anima gains image-to-image.
- Faster downloads with transparent progress (previously it just said "generating" while pulling files in the background).
Free, open source, Windows and Mac, optional cloud mode. Repo: github.com/Publikey/imference-desktop.
