Deep dive into WAI Illustrious: 'silver hair' isn't a Danbooru tag, 'grey hair' has 680k posts
Limp_Okra_5496 · reddit · 2026-10-01
After weeks of testing WAI-illustrious-SDXL against Danbooru's tag index, the author published a public guide with measured findings: 'silver hair' has no Danbooru entry while 'grey hair' has 680k posts; 'dramatic/cinematic/rim lighting' don't exist as tags but 'backlighting', 'light rays' and 'sunbeam' do; 'masterpiece' and 'worst detail' are training-time labels, not Danbooru tags; and only 417 of 59,201 artist tags have 1,000+ posts. Every claim is labeled as documented, measured, community practice or inference, with same-scene prompt comparisons and a (secret) prompting method the author says beats standard approaches.
