Astra ultrafast rebuilds an app from scratch in ~3 mins using 10% of a $500/mo plan
OpenAIDevs · x · 2026-10-01
At OpenAI's DevDay, developer davis7 ran the Astra coding agent in ultrafast mode (medium reasoning) to rebuild a 1:1 app from scratch on the modretro device handed to attendees:
- 3 minutes to complete
- 4 subagents used
- 10% of his weekly limit on a $500/month plan
His take: ultrafast is rarely needed, but it's genuinely impressive when you do use it.
