a16z's Andrew Chen notes the irony: the PC killed $20k+ workstations (SGI, NeXT, Sun) in the 1980s — back then nobody could imagine buying such an expensive computer. Yet today people buy a PC and add an RTX PRO 6000, or a Mac Studio. And prices are only going up.
