A study estimates that, unlike AI, robots remain prohibitively expensive: they are cost-competitive for only about 0.3% of job tasks today. If robot prices keep following historical decline trends, that share would take roughly 40 years to reach 10% — a stark contrast to narratives of imminent mass labor automation.
