UChicago Booth is hiring Applied AI faculty, aimed at AI researchers who want academia without being traditional CS professors managing a big lab. The poster highlights two draws: you can stay on an Individual Contributor track (or run a much smaller group) rather than becoming a manager-PI, and funding pressure is minimal—almost all of her funding comes directly from the department.
