While vibe coding in Claude Code, the developer kept switching to other LLMs to discuss features/errors, requiring manual copy-paste each time. So they built PromptHop, a Chrome extension that runs 100% locally and carries compressed chat history seamlessly across AI tools while preserving privacy.
The hardest part was compression: code-heavy chats compress well (51%), but everyday conversational text only yields single-digit savings.
