WebMCP lets a web page hand AI agents a typed menu of actions instead of agents scraping the DOM and clicking blindly. You declare tools like searchproducts or startcheckout with name/description/schema; the agent calls them in the user's tab with the same login and UI — no extra backend or API keys. Unlike MCP (server-side), WebMCP is the live page itself. Rationale: agents are becoming traffic, one typed call beats a dozen guessed clicks, and it's a progressive layer humans still use. Ship the three actions that already make money first.
