How this team uses Codex to build Google Slides decks in four steps
every · x · 2026-09-28
Every's Douglas Brundage shares his four-step workflow for building slide decks with Codex:
- Make reference slides first: hand-craft a few samples (title, section break, text/image layouts) so Codex repeats that design across the deck.
- Settle copy and assets before building: finalize what each slide says and supply images — e.g. point Codex at illustrations in Figma and have it place one on each section break.
- Let Codex build the deck: it clicks, types, places images, and formats slides from your references. Review the output — in one run it crammed 30 examples onto a single slide; fix it yourself or tell it what to change.
- Persist your corrections: save manual edits for future runs.
The author says this turns hours of formatting work into content curation plus review.
