"Markets for everything": why fully automated AI firms may run internal markets to price disagreements
morqon · x · 2026-09-28
Resharing @distributionat's argument: alongside AI, markets will proliferate — prediction markets, decision markets, even traffic-control markets — and companies will increasingly run internal markets.
He sketches a fully automated AI firm run by a swarm of agents handling legal, finance, sales, and engineering. Their interests will inevitably clash; instead of arguing endlessly in Slack (petabytes of it), agents could spin up internal markets to price their disagreements down to the dollar.
The Hayekian case for internal markets gets pushed to its extreme by AI: literal tokenization of labor and intellectual work.
