Indie dev on AI: your game gets cloned within days and slop buries originals

Indie developer Bartek says someone cloned his game with AI — no hard feelings, the cloner is likely just playing around and won't finish it. But it sparked a sober reflection:
- No safety window anymore: posting dev progress used to be safe because nobody could catch up in days; now any decent idea gets cloned almost immediately.
- AI slop floods the feed: original work struggles to get visibility as generated content fills discovery surfaces.
- Thinner pride: even when a small prototype works, the sense of having dragged something into existence yourself feels diminished — and views are often lower too.
He notes he still uses AI for brainstorming and quick idea validation. A reply shows a model failing to clone the game and producing a 3D voxel variant instead.
