Dev builds private "gamefeel" benchmark to test LLMs on game design intuition
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-09-28
A developer known as follistatindev has created a private "gamefeel™" benchmark with dozens of gamedev tasks focused on game balancing, game feel, and understanding of game mechanics across roguelikes, MMORPGs, strategy, and survival/sandbox games.
teortaxesTex shared the results as "surprisingly believable," noting that game feel is hard to explain to LLMs in words, so models' innate attitude toward games is highly revealing: either they truly understand what games are, or they don't.
