AndyMasley poses a thought experiment: bring GPT-6 Astra or Claude Opus 5.5 back to 1980, let people use it for a few weeks — what percentage would say "you have built a machine that can actually think and understand words"?
He thinks it'd be pretty high, a contrast to today's widespread "stochastic parrot" skepticism.
