Best way to sell to AI agents: ship a public benchmark teaching models your product

Brendan Foody (Mercor founder) argues that in the agent era, the single best way to "sell to agents" is to create a public benchmark that teaches frontier models how to use your product. Instead of traditional channel marketing, you make your product's interface and best usage part of the training/eval data, so agents autonomously choose it when relevant. OpenAI's intellectronica echoed the view.
It reflects a new GTM playbook for the agent economy: benchmarks as distribution.
