Geoffrey Huntley Demos a Software Factory Where the Product Is Its Own IDE

Geoffrey Huntley argues a "software factory" shouldn't be external tooling but an embedded automation practice: the product builds the product, Factorio-style. His AI-learning platform Latent Patterns is a working demo — a built-in designer mode turns the product itself into the IDE, letting him change copy or even core functionality from within, then ship via Cursor's new Cloud Agents and Workflow Automations with a risk-based release approach.
He says he doesn't build his own coding agents because they're commodities now, claims he's "accidentally created a better Lovable," and believes the developer persona developer tools target no longer exists. Tero Alhonnoroti quipped this destination was Alan Kay's idea all along.
